Koko Turns One!

Koa, meaning brave, bold, and fearless, isn't quite showing those colours yet but then again he just turned one after all!  I had the lovely pleasure to once again be invited to share in the festivities with my best friend Laura, her husband Dan, their sons, as well as both their extended families for Koa's 1st Birthday!  Their couldn't have been a more perfect setting than Port Augusta Park; a park in Comox that I know is dear to Laura's heart and somewhere she herself as a child used to visit.  Homemade lemonade in mason jars, lace table setting, blueberry topped cupcakes, cozy cream blanket, and hints of pale blue, are just some of the beautiful touches Laura put together for this lovely family picnic.  Koa and Ryder both melt my heart and seeing how much love and happiness they bring to both Laura and Dan's families is just so beautiful to see and capture.

SOINTULA (place of harmony)

There are certain moments in your life you will never forget; days where you think in years to come you could replay them almost in detail.  Days where they shed light not only on the situation at hand but in life and put things into perspective.  They make you feel emotion, feel human, and feel connected to people in a way that can't be explained.  September twenty-eight, at Bere Point, on Malcolm Island, was one of those days.  The amount of love shared and felt that day was so beautiful it is hard to put into words, let alone photographs.  Brent Tarkanen, you are one loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, and friend and you will and are greatly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing you.  Thank you all for such an amazing day full of good food, good people, and even greater memories.  All my love and support to Steve, Jean, and Jory and to all of you that keep a place in your hearts for Brent. xoxo
