Being that Russ and I haven't haven't had much time to ourselves(we decided to buy a house and get married within the same summer...not for everyone), we decided a hike in beautiful Strathcona Park was a definite must before the summer ended. Luckily September has been good to us and we had two solid days of pure sunshine while hiking! Elk River Trail is a beautiful hike and has 2 nice campsites along the way that eventually leads to the base of Coronel Foster Mountain(2nd highest peak on Vancouver Island) at which you get a spectacular view of the turquoise water of Landslide Lake. All in all a great trip, with great company!
