From Film to Digital

The art of film photography is in itself a lost art.  Luckily however I have had the priveledge to work with not just any film camera but a medium format b&w film camera.  The quality end product speaks for itself and the process to get there is difficult yet very gratifying.  I have scanned my 8x10 prints so that I can share them(however some of the quality is lost).  Getting back into film inspires me go knocking on my parents door and ask them to riffle through and find our old olympus 35mm so I can bring it back to life!

At the end of the Rainbow is Kauai

Its been over 12 years since I had last been to Hawaii; and unlike last time I was in Kauai not Oahu, and with my fiance and not my family.  Luckily Kauai, unlike alot of Hawaii, still feels untouched and wild; buildings no higher then a coconut tree and fresh fruit markets at your disposal.  I have my best friend to thank to get me back to Hawaii, for she and her fiance decided to tie the knot in the picturesque south end of Kauai.  From the white sandy beaches, to the red misty dirt canyons, and the lush tropical jungle, Kauai is a haven for the outdoor enthusiast and a constant visual stimulant.

Tying the Knot

Falling in love with a commercial fisherman allowed me into a world unknown; where I was happily surprised to find beauty in the most unlikely of places.  Something as simple as a rope became my muse and I found myself lost on the docks of the comox marina.
