Follow the Yellow and Red Leaf Road

On Vancouver Island we sadly don't get to soak in the seasons like the rest of the province.  On the coast our seasons mesh into one and we get rain with a chance of autumn or spring.  There is and always will be a soft spot in my heart for autumn.  As a young girl living in Germany and then Ontario, I grew accustomed to the damp dirt smell, the red, orange, and yellow leaf piles and the scary thought that school was going to commence any day now.  Luckily I was transported back to those days while hiking to Ripple Rock Lookout.  Breathing in that crisp clean cool air and soaking in the warm rays of the sun, the day couldn't be any better for a stroll down memory lane.  I always love a hike that awards you with something at the end of it.  Kevin and I were given an oustanding view of Johnstone Straights and where Ripple Rock once resided.
